At the Bilingual Education Center, an online class, also known as a virtual class or e-learning, is an educational format where instruction and learning occur primarily through digital platforms and the Internet. Here's a description of our online courses:
- Digital Environment: Online classes take place in a digital environment, primarily accessed through a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Students and instructors interact through websites, learning management systems (LMS), or video conferencing platforms.
- Flexibility: Online classes often offer a high degree of flexibility in scheduling. Students can conveniently access course materials, lectures, and assignments, allowing for a more personalized learning experience.
- Geographical Independence: Online classes break down geographical barriers. Students from different locations, even other countries, can participate without physical travel.
- Variety of Formats: Online classes come in various formats. They can be synchronous, where students and instructors meet at specific times for live lectures and discussions, or asynchronous, where students access pre-recorded content and interact at their own pace.
- Access to Resources: Students typically have access to a wide range of digital resources, including video lectures, reading materials, multimedia presentations, and discussion forums.
- Communication: Communication with instructors and peers often occurs through emails, discussion boards, chat rooms, or video conferencing tools like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Self-Paced Learning: Online classes require high self-discipline and time management skills. Students are responsible for setting their study schedules and meeting deadlines.
- Assessments: Assignments, quizzes, exams, and other evaluations are often conducted digitally. Students may be required to submit their work through the online platform.
- Instructor Availability: Instructors are available for questions and guidance through email or virtual office hours. Some online classes also feature live Q&A sessions.
- Technology Requirements: Students must have access to a computer or mobile device and a reliable internet connection. Specific software or apps may be required for certain courses.
- Recorded Lectures: In asynchronous online classes, recorded lectures are standard. Students can replay these lectures as needed to reinforce their understanding of the material.
- Discussion Forums: Discussion boards or forums are often used for asynchronous classes to facilitate peer interaction and group discussions.
- Engagement Tools: Online classes may employ various tools to enhance engagement, such as interactive quizzes, polls, and virtual simulations.
The Weekend program considers part-time and depends on the selected language courses.
In our in-person classes, the instructor and students are physically present at the exact location. This allows for direct, real-time interaction and communication and typically follows a schedule with specific meeting times and durations. Students are expected to attend these sessions regularly. The benefits of in-person classes Instructors and students engage in face-to-face discussions, lectures, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. This allows for immediate feedback and clarification of doubts. Depending on the subject matter at the bilingual education center, in-person classes may include hands-on activities, laboratory work, or practical demonstrations, enhancing the learning experience.
Our in-person classes offer a structured, interactive learning environment that suits various subjects and learning styles. They provide opportunities for real-time engagement, networking, and a deeper understanding of the material being taught.
